located in the Sierra foothills of Nevada City — tended gardens, quiet trails, and tall trees, a place to slow down and breathe. The gardens are alive with the seasons: culinary beds, fragrant herbs, ripening berries, a woodland floral grove, and rows for cutting your own flowers. This place grew from a vision I carried home through years of retreats and travels — the dream of a garden and guest house where others could rest the way I once needed to. The way the land found me is a bit of a mystical story, and the best place to hear it is here, among the trees.

I'm Rin, the gardener and steward behind Star & Soil. I've been a lifelong gardener, and the idea for this place took shape over years of retreats and travels of my own. After a few moves here and there, I'm grateful to be rooted back in the Sierra Nevada foothills that have always been home — and to share this land with you.
